mohawkjohnny@mailfence.comParticipant::My name is John, and I’ve been dabbling in gunsmithing since my military days, back in the late eighties. Bespoke rifles to me are like an itch I have to scratch. I’m a toolmaker by trade, and it seems natural that I may find a home in the “metalsmithing” category, but I’ve got the attention span of a springer puppy. I do need to divert my artistic proclivities in other directions on a regular basis. Stock-making is, admittedly, an area where my skillset needs considerable cultivation, and I’m counting on the generosity of strangers to guide me through the shoals. Engraving, well, if I ever entertain the idea that I can do that, somebody should slap me back into my senses or just call an ambulance because I’ve gone mad…
As I live in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts (yes, I understand politics is off the table, but bear with me.), I cannot do commercial gunsmithing from my residence, and I refuse to pay the ridiculous rent for commercial property. I will be moving to Tennessee, however, within the next few years, God willing and the crick don’t rise… In the interim, I’ll continue doing it at the “hobbyist” level (you may be the judge of that). I’ll post some snaps of my current project as it develops. I’m interested to know whether blemishes below the wood-line are something I should address. Feel free to critique. Well, not so fast. As the founding (and only) member of the American Techno-Luddite Club, I am not yet capable of posting a photo. Good grief! Perhaps a member can offer me some guidance in this area.

John PowersParticipantWelcome, and best of luck! Posting a photo should be straightforward. Just click the photo icon at the end of the toolbar, then select and upload your picture. If you have any trouble, let us know and we’ll be happy to help.

mohawkjohnny@mailfence.comParticipantThanks, John, I’d take a swing at uploading snaps from this PC, but I’m being asked for dimensions. Seriously? I haven’t seen that before. It’s not like I haven’t posted photos on Facebook before, but asking for dimensions is like putting me in a round room and telling me to sit in the corner… There must be a better way. I can hear my adult children chuckling.

John PowersParticipantDon’t worry about the dimensions. Just locate your photo and double-click it. The file path will automatically appear in the Source box. Click OK, and the photo should embed into the text box.

mohawkjohnny@mailfence.comParticipantHey, I did it! Can I post more? Actually, it’s a crappy picture. I’ll post a better one.
